How is Washington HomeChoice DPA paid back?
You make no monthly payments on this deferred loan. Once your home loan is paid off, or you sell, refinance, move out or pass the home to someone else, you repay it.
With a deferred loan there's no monthly cost. The entire amount comes due when you sell the home, refinance or pay off the first mortgage.
Who qualifies for Washington HomeChoice DPA?
- It's open only to buyers who have a disability themselves or a disabled family member in their home.
- King or Snohomish County buyers can earn up to $164,400; the limit drops to $126,800 in every other county.
- Limited to first-time buyers, yes, but exceptions apply.
- Before you buy, you take a homebuyer education course.
- This help is attached to the Commission's Home Advantage first-mortgage loan or the House Key Opportunity one.
