Who can get Louisiana HomeStart Plus?

  • Only buyers purchasing in designated parishes hit by Hurricanes Laura, Delta, or Ida qualify.
  • Household income: 80% of the area median income set by HUD, changing with household size and location.
  • You must be a first-time buyer, which usually means you haven't owned a home in the last three years.
  • Your credit score must be at least 640.
  • You'll need to complete a homebuyer education course ahead of your purchase.
  • The LHC HomeStart Plus program provides a fixed-rate first mortgage lasting 30 years alongside this help.

Your county and household size set most of the limits. Our tool to check HUD income limits shows the median income for your area and where your household falls.
